From Curtainwall to Below-Grade — We Seal Every Transition

Tremco serves architects, contractors, and applicators across every sector of commercial and institutional construction.

Specification Confidence Backed by Tested Data

Every Tremco product enters the market with a Technical Data Sheet that includes measured test values — not typical values or estimates — so you can specify with confidence.

Chemistry-Backed Performance

Every Tremco formulation undergoes ASTM-method validation — movement accommodation, adhesion peel, and accelerated weathering — before release. Measured values. No guesswork.

Specification-Grade Compliance

Tremco sealants meet ASTM C920, Federal Specification TT-S-00230, and ICC-ES criteria. TDSs include tested values, not estimates, giving specifiers the data needed for Section 079200.

Certified Applicator Network

2,800+ Tremco-certified applicators across North America ensure correct surface preparation, primer selection, and tooling technique — protecting warranty integrity from day one.

Complete System Warranty

Unlike distributor-model brands, Tremco provides manufacturer-backed system warranties — covering primer, sealant, and substrate adhesion — for qualifying commercial projects.

LEED & Sustainability Support

Tremco ExoAir air barriers and low-VOC sealant options contribute to LEED EA Credit (reduced energy loads) and IEQ Credit (low-emission materials) for green building projects.

Technical Field Support

Tremco Technical Representatives conduct on-site mock-up reviews, pre-construction meetings, and application inspections on specified projects — reducing callbacks and RFIs.

Trusted by Architects and Contractors Nationwide

"We specified Dymonic 100 for the curtainwall perimeter joints on our 32-story glass tower project in Chicago. Tremco's Technical Representative attended our pre-construction mock-up and flagged a substrate compatibility issue before a single tube was opened. That kind of proactive field support is rare in the sealant industry — and it's why we continue to specify Tremco on every major building envelope project."

Common Questions from Architects & Contractors

Dymonic 100 is a one-component, moisture-cured polyurethane sealant with ±50% movement accommodation, suited for high-movement perimeter and curtainwall joints. Dymonic FC (Fast Cure) uses a two-component polyurea chemistry that achieves walk-on traffic cure in 4 hours vs. 7-14 days for moisture-cure products — ideal for horizontal plaza deck and parking deck joints where early return to service is required. Both meet ASTM C920 Type S, Grade NS, Class 50.

Polyurethane sealants (Dymonic, Vulkem) are paintable, abrasion-resistant, and adhere well to concrete, masonry, and wood — making them the standard choice for perimeter joints, precast concrete, and plaza decks. Silicone sealants (Spectrem) are UV-stable, non-paintable, and maintain flexibility at extreme temperatures (-65°F to 400°F), making them the specification choice for curtainwall glazing, structural bonding, and any application requiring long-term weatherseal performance without primer on glass or aluminum.

Primer requirements are substrate-specific and documented in each product's Technical Data Sheet. Tremco Primers 171 (polyurethane-based) and 191 (non-porous surfaces) are required on porous cementitious substrates and certain metals for Dymonic and Vulkem sealants. Spectrem silicone sealants typically bond unprimered to clean glass and aluminum. Always consult the TDS and conduct adhesion pull tests on-site prior to production installation — substrate coatings, release agents, and environmental conditions affect adhesion.

Tremco offers system warranties on qualifying commercial projects installed by Tremco-certified applicators. Warranty terms vary by product line and project scope — typically 5 to 10 years on sealant systems, with extended coverage available for ExoAir air barrier and Puma traffic coating systems under the BuildingProtection warranty program. Contact your Tremco Technical Representative early in the design phase to register the project and confirm applicator certification.

All Tremco Technical Data Sheets, Safety Data Sheets, color charts, and MasterSpec-format specification sections are available in our Technical Specifications Library. You can also use the Tremco Sealant Calculator to estimate product quantities for joint dimensions and download pre-filled CSI Section 079200 specification language for Dymonic, Spectrem, Vulkem, and ExoAir products.
